You get one seriously fun day in Kiel.<\/p>\n

On 9 August, Jo Aleh (NZL)<\/strong> and Susann Beucke (GER)<\/strong> \u2013 two powerhouse Olympic sailors \u2013 jumped on board with Canada Ocean Racing \u2013 Be Water Positive for the Pro-Am racing ahead of The Ocean Race Europe<\/em> kick-off this Sunday. They were joined on board by William Thomas<\/strong>, Managing Director of 18K Sport, the team delivering the Auckland Stopover for The Ocean Race 2027<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Jo\u2019s Gold came from London 2012, and her Silver from Rio 2016, and she has sailed everything from SailGP to the America\u2019s Cup. Susann\u2019s an Olympic Silver medallist, European champion and aiming for the 2028 Vend\u00e9e Globe.<\/p>\n

Out on the water, they took on some of the sport\u2019s toughest teams in a light-wind speed trial \u2013 but with plenty of laughs, a lot of ropes, and the kind of energy only Olympians bring.<\/p>\n

“These boats look like they\u2019re going to absolutely send it. You\u2019ve got to love foiling,” said Jo.<\/p>\n

She’s not wrong.<\/p>\n

For Susann, the shift to offshore racing started in 2022: \u201cWhen I started, I thought I only had to learn a few things \u2013 turns out I had to learn everything<\/em> again. These boats are bigger, and there\u2019s so much more technique involved.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both connected instantly with our Be Water Positive<\/strong> mission: protecting the planet\u2019s most precious resource<\/p>\n

\u201cWe live on the ocean. It\u2019s life. We need to look after it,\u201d said Jo.<\/p>\n

The main race starts Sunday, 10 August<\/strong> \u2013 and yes, Jo, we\u2019re ready to send it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
