Team Makes the Difficult Decision to Retire due to Technical Issues <\/span><\/h3>\r\n

Last night (26 July 2025), just before midnight UK time, we made the difficult decision to retire from the Rolex Fastnet Race due to a technical issue affecting one of the boat\u2019s main hydraulic control systems.

All the crew are safe, and there is no immediate danger. The yacht is now heading to Cherbourg, France, for inspection and repairs.

\u201cWe\u2019re retiring due to a technical issue with one of our main control systems,\u201d the team shared from onboard. \u201cWe\u2019re gutted \u2014 this is such an iconic race and it\u2019s so disappointing not to finish it. But we\u2019ve got six weeks of racing ahead of us in The Ocean Race Europe, and it\u2019s critical that we stay focused on a repair in time for that series of races starting in just two weeks\u2019 time.\u201d

This isn\u2019t the result any of us wanted. But offshore racing is as much about making the right call in the moment as it is about crossing the finish line. With thousands of miles still ahead in this season\u2019s campaign, our focus now shifts to ensuring the boat is ready for our next race start in two weeks’ time.
