Pip Hare Joins Canada Ocean Racing for The Ocean Race Europe<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n

Canada Ocean Racing is excited to announce that British offshore sailor Pip Hare will join their Be Water Positive campaign for the 2025 edition of The Ocean Race Europe.  <\/strong>

Pip will sail alongside Canadian skipper Scott Shawyer and the four-person sailing team on every leg of the race, sharing her extensive offshore racing experience and energy. 

Pip\u2019s involvement will provide invaluable insight and mentorship as the team refines its performance and cohesion in the lead-up to future solo, crewed and short-handed campaigns.\u200b 

Pip is no stranger to pushing boundaries. She rose to international recognition during the 2020\u201321 Vend\u00e9e Globe, where she won the hearts of thousands of race followers with her competitive spirit and her ability to tell a captivating story of human endeavour.  

That campaign proved what many in the sailing world already knew: Pip Hare is one of offshore sailing\u2019s most compelling figures. 

In the years since, Pip has continued to inspire, competing amongst the top ten of the international IMOCA fleet, and recently managing a dramatic dismasting during the 2024 Vend\u00e9e Globe with decisiveness and determination. 

\u201cPip is a ruthless competitor with a huge heart,\u201d<\/strong> said Scott Shawyer, president and skipper of Canada Ocean Racing. \u201cShe brings a rare mix of tenacity, experience, and humanity to the team. Pip\u2019s arrival comes at a key moment for the team as they take possession of their new foiling IMOCA yacht (to be announced soon) and commence the final four-year build toward Scott\u2019s long-term goal of finishing the Vend\u00e9e Globe in 2028-9. 

The Ocean Race Europe offers a unique proving ground for people and performance, and Pip\u2019s involvement will help to strengthen the team\u2019s campaign as she takes on the role of watch leader, contributing to the strategy, and performance and seamanship onboard. 

This partnership reflects a shared belief in continuous improvement and collaboration at the highest level of offshore sailing.

Pip n\u2019en est pas \u00e0 son premier d\u00e9fi. Elle s\u2019est fait conna\u00eetre \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle internationale lors du Vend\u00e9e Globe 2020\u20132021, o\u00f9 elle a conquis le c\u0153ur de milliers de passionn\u00e9s gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son esprit de comp\u00e9tition et sa mani\u00e8re authentique de raconter une histoire humaine inoubliable. 

Cette campagne est venue confirmer ce que nombre d\u2019acteurs du monde de la voile savaient d\u00e9j\u00e0 : Pip Hare s\u2019impose comme l\u2019une des figures les plus captivantes de la course au large. 

Depuis, elle n\u2019a cess\u00e9 d\u2019inspirer : en rivalisant avec les meilleurs au sein du top 10 de la flotte IMOCA internationale, puis plus r\u00e9cemment, en affrontant avec sang-froid un spectaculaire d\u00e9m\u00e2tage lors du Vend\u00e9e Globe 2024, faisant preuve d\u2019un courage et d\u2019une d\u00e9termination exemplaires. 

\u00abPip est une comp\u00e9titrice redoutable, avec un c\u0153ur immense\u00bb<\/strong>, d\u00e9clare Scott Shawyer, pr\u00e9sident et skipper de Canada Ocean Racing. \u00abElle apporte \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9quipe un m\u00e9lange rare de t\u00e9nacit\u00e9, d\u2019exp\u00e9rience et d\u2019humanit\u00e9. L\u2019arriv\u00e9e de Pip tombe \u00e0 un moment cl\u00e9 pour l\u2019\u00e9quipe, qui s\u2019appr\u00eate \u00e0 prendre possession de son nouveau bateau IMOCA \u00e0 foils (annonce imminente) et entame une pr\u00e9paration de quatre ans, avec en ligne de mire l\u2019objectif de Scott : terminer le Vend\u00e9e Globe 2028-2029.
