Scott Shawyer aims to compete in the 2028 Vend\u00e9e Globe and by doing so become the first Canadian to finish the Vend\u00e9e Globe.<\/p>\n

There have been two previous attempts by Canadian skippers to finish this amazing feat, one retired mid-race due to damage, the other was sadly lost at sea.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This project will highlight the process of developing human resilience, technical expertise, and performance traits alongside the highest level of seamanship that will enable ultimate success.<\/p>\n

There are numerous annual IMOCA Class races that take the fleet and sponsors to every corner of the globe.<\/p>\n

Alongside Scott’s sporting ambitions, Canada Ocean Racing is committed to telling a unique story and to be front line communicators for our Be Water Positive purpose and our stakeholders.<\/p>\n

We are establishing a brand and business that will enable future Canadians access to the highest level of professional offshore yacht racing.<\/p>\n

With the development of the Pathway Program, the team screens applicants Canada-wide to pass on knowledge related to campaigning at an elite level in this sporting and adventure discipline, as well as providing employment and internship opportunities to those who express the same enthusiasm and values as Scott and the team.<\/p>\n

The concept of spending over 70 days at sea, sailing around the world non-stop, unassisted and solo is unfathomable to most.<\/p>\n

This project promises to deliver a raw and transparent all-access insight into the success and set backs on the road to the 2028 Vend\u00e9e Globe.<\/p>\n

Scott aims to encourage us all to “choose our adventure” to challenge ourselves and create new personal goals and levels of belief in what we are capable of achieving.<\/p>\n

We hope to inspire audiences around the world to support the aims of Be Water Positive, by using our voice and sailing billboard to raise awareness of how vulnerable water resources are.<\/p>\n
